How to film workshops – All workshops £225pp (+VAT)

COVID-19 has changed the way we deliver our workshops.  Currently all our workshops are delivered online with some split over two or more sessions on different days to give you the opportunity to go away and practise what you’ve learned.  Contact us for more information.

Learn from us the right way to film using your equipment in one of our popular technical workshops. We come to you to show you how.  In small groups we focus on how to get the best out of your equipment, showing you the best tricks of the trade to get you up and running to help you create simple videos or make better ones.  Run by ex BBC cameraman and award winning coach you will develop your skills.

These are private workshops on your premises with each workshop tailored to address your needs. Each workshop is split into sessions focussing on the key elements you need to know with plenty of hands on time for you to learn from us.

Do you want to learn how to use your phone to improve how you film people? Learn from professionals. Our workshop will show you the hints and tips and how to avoid pitfalls, conducted safely by Zoom amid COVID-19.

Perhaps you need to film a colleague or manager or film yourself, whatever the need we can help you to get improved results. This workshop focuses on filming only, for editing please see our editing workshop.

 

Breakdown of workshop (approx. 3 hours)

  1. Zoom briefing/presentation – 45 mins
  2. Break out shooting session with facilitator virtually on hand to assist – 1hr 30 mins
  3. Zoom meeting for feedback – 1hr

 

Assumed knowledge – none

Equipment required – your camera phone

  • To be able to set up and conduct basic smartphone to film people
  • High level technical awareness of various camera features on your phone
  • How to plan
  • How and why to use correct microphones
  • Lighting awareness
  • How to set up a ‘talking head’ (first or third party) interview scenario
  • Filming techniques
  • How to coach presenter
  • How to export for editing

Do you want to learn how to use your phone to improve how you film products and other items? Learn from professionals. Our workshop will show you the hints and tips and how to avoid pitfalls, conducted safely by Zoom amid COVID-19.

Perhaps you need to film a short product overview or demonstrate how to complete a task, whatever the need, we can help you to get improved results. This workshop focuses on filming only. For editing please see our editing workshop.

Introduction to Editing Your Own Content

Do you want to learn how to improve the edits of your self shot content? Perhaps you have a tight turnaround or just want to do this yourself. 

Editing is a time consuming and fiddly process which is often best left to professionals but simple editing is possible. Learn from the professionals and let us show you the best practice and pitfalls. This course can follow on from our filming workshops, or you may already have some content requiring editing.

 

Breakdown of workshop (approx. 3 hours)

  1. Zoom briefing/presentation – 45 mins
  2. Break out editing session with facilitator virtually on hand to assist – 1hr 30 mins
  3. Zoom meeting for feedback – 1hr

 

Assumed knowledge – none

Equipment required – your laptop loaded with editing software (we recommend Adobe Rush which is part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud)
